I feel a little disconnected Every time I talk to her My mind replays all that has happened And I take long pauses Let the silence slip in Awkwardly, like a stranger And maybe in the time it takes for me to speak She’ll have made up her mind About me One last time I could be anyone And she could be that someone I could be anyone If I really did believe I could’ve been anyone And She could be that someone Someone meant for me Someone meant for me I could be anyone And she could be that someone I could be anyone If I really did believe I could’ve been anyone And you could be that someone Someone meant for me Someone meant for me Someone meant for me

Texas 03:34
I never saw a yellow rose in Texas I never smelt the sage in bloom The only stars I know live in Dallas And the one I love skipped town in June There aren’t many cowboys in Austin The horses are just for show Bluebonnets aren’t wild flowers They’re just planted by the highway patrol You can always come to Texas 2nd to Alaska in room Everything really is bigger in Texas From the churches to the Buc-ee’s bathrooms The stars at night, are big and bright Deep in the heart of Texas I was born in Irving Texas Raised like Mrs. Baird's Bread It’s not stamped on my passport But it’s something that they put inside my head It’s a steroid called Texas 200 pounds of pride and grit Illegal everywhere but Texas So we always seem to be starting shit

Day after day I fill the time Trying to get close to you And I know that you’re not busy you might not be around Since the quarantine Week after week The floorboards creak From walking back and forth every hour I’m beginning to realize There’s no one here to save me from myself Month after Month I’m just stuck In an endless catch 22 I don’t feel well So I stopped doing things I’m supposed to Year after year Eternity Is the only length of time I know And I forgot about the person I reached out to A century ago Day after day I fill the time Trying to get close to you
